Welcome to the Friends of Wells Cathedral

The Friends of Wells Cathedral were founded in 1933 and there are now Friends across the globe.

The Friends support the Chapter in their maitenance of the fabric, life and ministry of the Cathedral.  The Friends have contributed to projects big and small, relating to the building and to deprtment within the Cathedral.

The Friends' Office in the West Cloister (entry from the New Entry Cloister) is normally open:
Monday 10:00am to 12:00 noon, Wednesday 12:00noon to 2:00pm, Friday 3:00pm to 5:00pm

Our Office is staffed by volunteers and we cannot guarantee that it will be open at these times.  Where possible notice of closure will be given on this website; we do not open on Bank Holidays.  When the office is closed, messages can be left on the answering machine; these will be listened to even when the Office is not open.
