The Friends of Wells Cathedral was founded in 1933 and there are now Friends across the globe. The Friends support the Chapter of Wells in the of maintenance of the fabric, life and work of the Cathedral. The Friends have contributed to projects big and small, relating to the building and to departments within the Cathedral Foundation. The Friends committed themselves to funding the £1.8m for the Friends Building in the Cathedral Development Project.

The Friends' Office is in the West Cloister (entry from the New Entry Cloister). For more information please see Office Hours.

Please note that the Friends Office is currently closed as part of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) precautions.

We regret that Friends Day and the Friends' Festival Weekend have been cancelled this year.

All other Friends' meetings and events have also been cancelled until further notice.

Future events will be posted here as they become possible and Friends (who have supplied the Office with an email address) will receive E-Newsletters.

If you need to contact the Friends, you can email the Office (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or call 01749 678830
